Usually Hunter's Specialties takes the prize for the most ridiculous hunting product on the market but this year, Flambeau and Mad Game Calls have come out with...the Treecoy - yes, a fake tree to attract deer. Follow this link to see the video. Unbelievable!

I dunno, the arrow heads where you can insert a .357 mag bullet to make a bow-bang stick might rival that.  But Treecoy is certainly moronic.

Although I would never think of entering the woods without my Treecoy, it is getting hard to carry it, my Ozonics, and my Cmere Deer in my back quiver and still look traditional. I don't know how I ever hunted without these essential items.   :dunno:

Wow! While the Treecoy certainly is dumb....it really isn't detrimental to hunting, so we can just laugh at it.

The bang stick broadheads (or whatever they are called) on the other hand could have a negative impact on our sport. Who could possibly think that is a good idea? That said.....I'm glad they weren't around when I was a kid. I would have certainly got in trouble with them...   :knothead:

I love these threads, and I think they reinforce the beauty and simplicity of traditional bowhunting.  Bow? Check. Arrows? Check. Broadheads? Check. Broadhead file? Check. That's as complicated as it needs to be...    :)

Talk about serendipity...I just got an email from a bowhunting buddy of mine saying he just saw an ad on the Outdoor Channel for this fake tree that you use to put mock scrapes under.

I would love to see the sales numbers for this product. Even more, I would love to meet one of the people who buys it.

This one ranks right up there with "turkey scent".

I'll start by saying I wouldn't buy one of the tree decoys, but I hunt a property in the high plains of eastern Colorado that it might be beneficial on. LOL!!! There is basically not a single tree on it that isn't a giant mature cottonwood. Used to be real good spot but the rancher got on a program to remove all the Russian Olive trees and all that's left are giant cottonwoods. Here is my vote, the "Toxic" broadhead!

I guess this is aimed at hunters who are gonna set this up in a big empty food plot and shoot the deer on open ground.  Might as well tie a tame deer to a stake and shoot it.  America land of the free hahaha.  Jeez.

The idea isnt bad
But the same has been done with a post hole digger and a tree.

The emhasis on antlers has ruined the sport IMO

Shoot a doe and forget about it!

I believe Glenn St Charles said "we are all trophy hunters. .  till something else comes along."

So, let's see

Fake field of greens
fake tree
fake scrape
fake buck urine
fake doe urine
fake deer decoy(s)
fake grunt and bleat calls
fake antler crashing

sounds like a REAL good time for all
