I was just wanting to know if anybody uses two nock points one above and one below the arrow and if they find any benefit from it. I saw a couple at one of our indoor ranges here. I shoot three finger below so I don't know if it would matter or not. Just curious.

If you shoot 3 under you especially should use 2 . I like 2 when hunting so I don't worry about my arrow sliding down the string .

I have been tying on two nock points for around 20 years. It will help to keep arrow from sliding down the string on release. You can probably find a slo-mo video on youtube, you might be able to see it happen. How tight are your nocks, too tight of a nock can also effect accuracy. It can help with 3 under also.Just have always done it this way.I like to have my nocks lightly snap on and come off easily.

I've seen enough slo-mo video of arrows sliding down the string to convince me it's a good idea. Regardless, there's no down side to using two nock points.

I have been shooting a new string and while breaking it in, I had only tied the lower nock pt kind of loose. As I shot, it would spin down and create a larger gap between the two nock pts. Without a doubt it changed my pt of impact by as much as a few inches yet it only separated by no more than 1/2"

Yep, size the nocks.  I use a small knot on the bottom and a slightly larger on the top.  This keeps the arrow from sliding fown on release, but a solid stop on the top for three under.

Are those using two nocks all three under shooters? Do split shooters get the same benefit?

katman

I don't see a down side to two nock points. Split or three under it prevents nock slippage.

I've seen it and wondered how useful it really is, sounds like it is worth doing. TNX for posting the topic OP.

I shoot split and have noticed more consistent flight with two nock points, especially when bare shaft tuning.

I tie in one nock when I make a new string, shoot the string in and set my brace height and final tune, then tie in the second nock.  Works great when hunting, (or target or stumping) the arrow is always in the right place on the string and no worries. I always carry a spare string all ready to go. I shoot split finger with a tab.

brbowhunter

I shot a single nock point for years.. I changed to a double nock set and my groups got tighter immediately.. I will only shoot a double nock set from now on... It helps for sure...

My thoughts exactly.  I shoot 3 under and get better, more consistent arrow flight by doing so.
