SO,who owns an owl bow that is made of juniper...i have questions..thanks...

David Mitchell

Not sure what you are asking about.  Do you mean Owl Bows by Ed Scott from New Mexico--the all wood bows, or the Owl model from Howard Hill Archery?  If the former I have no experience with them other than having seen them.  If you mean the Howard Hill bow by that model name, an Owl model from Hill is osage lams with a bamboo core.  Any other core woods would make it a different model than the Owl.  I do have an Owl from Hill and it shoots great.  Hills juniper bow is called the Cheetah.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

I have two juniper Owls and an osage Owl. All three are good shooters and among the prettiest bows I've ever owned. Mr Scott makes a very useful bow but he is also a real artist. Apparently the sinew backed bows tend to gain weight with age, up to a point.  These bows were low 40s draw when new, now they are mid 40s- 50#s.
