Finally got home from lands far away and gave it about a week before contacting none other than Mr. Berry of J.D. Berry Archery.  Low and behold the Morning Star was finished and ready to pickup.  Long story short he busted his tail to make it an amazing living breathing work of art.  There really isn't a lot that can be said to accurately describe how well the bow looks and shoots.  Quiet and smooth it is beautiful to set in motion.  With a 531 grain arrow it is flat out fast with 720 grain arrows it ain't giving up much.  Only thing I regret about purchasing this one is I ended up ordering a Vixen before I left his shop.  Just ask Mr. Berry for a picture of his new bow and you will quickly understand why I'm back on the waiting list.  Pictures and chrono data to follow next week.

Chris,
First off welcome back and glad all is well
secomd I couldnt think of a better present waiting on me for a return from deployment.  Everything you described sbout your morningstar was just spot on to my experience also.  There is somethjng special about the reverse handels James is putting out , just amazing bows.
Now we need some pics!!!!

Glad you are back safe and sound. I'm on the waiting list for a Morningstar, and posts like yours make me wish I was a bit higher on that list, but the bow will no doubt be worth the wait. Until I get mine, I will just have to suffer with my Hill bows. Such a sacrifice!

I agree with Brian.....pics please, and glad you're home from deployment.   Those of us that have James work just seem to want to see more of it.  Dang his skillz anyway!

Very nice to hear you are back safe and like your new bow.

Sounds like James is building a lot of Morning Stars, my build comes up in about three weeks.

I'm glad you made it back safely.

I told Mr Berry I needed to have my name put on his list for some future dreams.

I think for the 1st time in a very long time I have the patience to wait it out since what I already have is one of his making that pleases me to a "T".

God bless,Mudd

Alright I will post pics soon as time permits.  Took my son in for a fairly routine surgical procedure.  Just isn't coming out of it so fast.  Hope to post the pics tomorrow.

You will need to plan on doing some scheduled dusting.  It is amazing how dusty your other bows get once you own a Morningstar.

Chris Jackson

Finally home from the hospital and the son is resting well next to his mother.  Pavan I know what you mean I've already taken my dorado apart and cased it.  Ashamed to admit I almost regret having the MOAB made cause it will be a internal struggle to decide which one I want to shoot.  Then again I am not the least bit sorry about placing an order for the Vixen before leaving Mr. Berry yesterday. With the wait list up to nine months already seemed like the smart thing to do.  Guys if you want a real looker I was given a preview of riser woods he has on hand and there is some very special stuff in his shop.  I would fully recommend talking to him about it ASAP.   Just dont try to swipe the chunk he picked out for my Vixen.

Chris,

Glad you are back and your son is doing well. That is the priorities in life. When it comes to James, be careful. He might try to talk you into his new particle board limbs. Don't let him, because I can't have anyone's bow shooting faster than my own Morningstar with particle boards limbs.

Big thank you to Brian.  Without him none of these pics would have hit the big screen.  Mr. Berry makes one heck of a bow.  And yes I know rookie mistake I put the string on backward.  Seems to shoot real nice that way!

Mr. Berry is trying to get me out for a shoot.  I'm really hoping to make a few before I move to Hawaii.  Of course I suspect he is setting me up for an education.   He is one heck of a great guy.  I really just can't explain how passionate he is about his art. And I can barely contain my excitement over the Vixen he has in the works.  My only two requests were for white and brown glass.  As any good artist does he  will sbow me a piece of wood and talk about classic bow designs.  From those brief conversation he will turn out a longbow that var exceedes my expectation.  Can you tell I love the man and his bows.

katman

That is a mighty fine looking bow, enjoy.
