Last Sunday afternoon after Church my wife said to me "So, do you want to go to the gym?" I thought for a millisecond and said"Or we could get our bows and go do a walk and some stump shooting????

She went for it! What a wife!!!!

First shot is always across the field, You can actually see her arrow in flight...

We feed the birds through the winter and have had as many as 11 male cardinals at the feeders at one time. Looks like there will be one less.

As we were walking through the field to get into the woods there was some type of seed pod laying in front of us. Lori shooting again...

**DONOTDELETE**

You are shooting tweetie birds off your bird feeder?.... Awwww maaaaan!  That sounds sporting.   :biglaugh:

I was afraid to open this thread with a title like that... My wife and i used to go stumping long before i got into archery.

Finally into the woods,we come up on a big softee out in front of us....

On the incline now,Lori looked at me and said "break time". We are heading up to the first bench so I thought I better let her get a rest.

We were making our way up through a stand of Hemlocks and I told Lori that I wanted to check out the dead yearling that I found(previous thread). On the way over we came across another doe that was really being worked.

Notice that the part of the intestines have been pulled out and laying above her, hmmm.

That makes 3 deer that I have found now all within 300 yds of each other.

Here is an elevated stump shot, thanks to a Pileated. I shot at the biggest hole x3 and every arrow landed back in that stump to the left. I was consistent.

Now my nock tips on my Holm-Made are dainty little things(Chad does excellent work)but these are still coming from a good sized deer.

Come on Hon,you are almost there, you have to see this view. I think she was ready to whack me.

Here is looking across the big ravine, evrything from Fishers to Black Bear cruise through here.

It was cold, and my hands were feeling it,my wife was really being a good sport. We stopped to cross the creek. Lots of ice still hanging on this little mountain stream.

They really look different when you get up close.

There is always a shot you can't pass up when you are out stumpin. This one was it for me.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Makes me want to get out into the woods. But alas,
we still have lots of deep snow where the sun doesn't reach very much.
Thanks for the ride.

That looks like a lot of fun and some good shooting.
