How does it work?  I'm across the bridge in Philly, but would be interested depending on the date(s).

Anyone have a link to the older thread so I can educate myself?

jebeckjr most of the Guy's live in Sussex, Morris, Passaic County. We will probably be hunting in Sussex County. It might be a haul for you unless you want to spend the night some where up there. Sandyston Township Google Earth it. From The Delaware Water Gap Bridge to the Milford Bridge. Big piece of land Federal and State. Go into The Archives and type in New Jersey Winter Bow Threads by Jerry Jeffer, myself, Joe Skipp, Recurve 50 LBS, Bamboo, Southpawshooter.

Thanks bentpole!  Depending on the date, I'd be interested.  I grew up in Morris County and have plenty of family in the area still.  I'll do some searching of the old threads.

If you could only form a hunt in the middle of the state, some of us southern Jersey boys could come.

Curt, A non resident bow license is $135.50 all you need to do is take a license from NY to a NJ license sales agent(walmart ect.)and they will give you one.You can read up on it below.

Curt, you buy a non resident bow license in New Jersey it's good until Dec. 31st. Early season bow starts the 2nd Sat in Sept. You have to take a doe before you take a buck [earn a buck]. Reg season starts after 2 weeks Buck or Doe doesn't matter. Here's how Jersey gets you during permit you have to buy a Zone permit where you want to hunt. You can buy as many Zone tags as you want. You have to buy a Buck tag to shoot a buck permit season. Your only allowed 1 buck no matter how many zone tags you have 1 buck that's it. So Winter Bow you can shoot a buck and unlimited does in the majority of zones in all seasons too.

Crossing the Jersey state line it says Welcome To New Jersey Please bend over ! But feel good knowing your hunting license fees will go to the general fund for road repair.

For the price of the out of state license you would think we had deer like Kansas.

I will say the Northern Jersey around the delaware water gap areas have a nice bit of land, I live in the south part and land is not as plentiful. WMA's and state forest are around but in the state forest every year they close off large areas for cedar tree restoration, and military use by the bombing ranges.

$135.00 for our tinny deer in the south is a bit much IMO. What do you get with the other states more buck? more does?.

Sorry if it got off the topic of the thread.

Bent pole .  Were are you guys hunting?  The cow corn fields , or the flats along the river.  It's rough driving them up on the mountain   . There down low now maby. Along the flat brook ?  I was up by blue mountain lakes area and it is pretty sparse  I would love to join  you guys but have to work  they do have big bucks. And does in that area . After shotgun season they seem  to disperse  to parts unknown.  I started to look in the trees for them  lol.    Good luck
