Looking for feedback on this recurve. Are they smooth, quiet, quick etc? Thanks, Bob

I don't know i've been shooting his longbow, but he's got one for sale on his website that drives me crazy with it's looks.

Hey Bob, I don't have more than maybe 30 Desert Bighorn bows out and about with a couple of them being overseas. If you would like to try one, I'll build you one and you can return it if you don't like it.

Alexander Traditional, don't let it drive you crazy, let if ride with you instead  :)
Thanks, BIgJIm

I just try to live my life in a way that would have made my father proud.

That's funny Jim. I'm going to give you a call for another longbow though.

Jim was kind enough to let me shoot one at the kentucky tradfest last year. The bow was very smooth at my draw and I was extremely pleased with the way it shot. Great bow!!!

Bob, They are fantastic. Yes, they are smooth, quiet, quick, and shoot where you are looking. The grip is very nice and allows you to be consistent shot after shot. The fit and finish are excellent. I puchased mine at the Denton Hill shoot, it has a bocote/east indian rosewood riser and bocote limbs. It is 52#@28" and 60" length. I was fortunate enough to kill two deer with it this year.   http://i40.tinypic.com/23siyco.jpg

Bob the stock bow looks right up your ally...

Beautiful....

I have one in B&W Ebony and Macassar. 60", 48#, smooth and quiet, my favorite bow. Thunderchild has been feeling lonely lately. Sorry but I'm not smart enough to figure out how to post photos on this forum.

As Jim has said above, there are not yet many of these bows out there.

I have a 62" 45# Bighorn that is a very smooth drawing and quiet shooting bow. The riser is shedua and bocote, the limbs are a highly figured bocote.

This is one of the best bows I have ever shot owing probably to the fact that  BigJim is not only a superb craftsman but also a brilliant bow designer; the recurve limb design is sophisticated and unique which is understandable if one has ever shot Jim's Thunderchild bows.

I shouldn't think you will regret Jim's offer to try the bow.

Maybe this will work. It is a photo of my Desert Bighorn and Thunderchild, mentioned in a previous post. The TC is 56" and 44#. It seems I have a thing for B&W Ebony.

I picked one up awhile back, did a trade with the little fell for a Bighorn Jim had in stock,60"-53#@28". Zebra limbs with zebra and Shedua riser.to say I'm impressed is and understatement.Everything a hunting bow should be,Light weight,a beautifully contoured rise, and the grip is to die for.Quiet, quick as heck and silent as a mouse. No this ones not going anywhere.Love it.

Oh boy, just when I thought I had this terrible affliction and addiction to trad bows under control, Jim goes and makes a recurve! Then someone goes and posts a pic of one in B&W Ebony! How can I possibly be expected to stay on the wagon with this sort of temptation placed before me?
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.
