Built my 2014 bow a little early this time.

Had a set of cool walnut lams I couldn't sell because of a couple knotholes about 1/4" , open holes not just knots....

So I patched with some sawdust ground off a scrap of same piece by taping the back, tamping sawdust in the open knot and soaking with CA(superglue)

Here are some pics after much sanding, spraying, and watching it come off the hanger and fall in the sawdust on floor!! LOL

The hole patched with sawdust and CA and ground as usual....

You can see a little sanding marks on patch, next time I'll handsand with 150 on patch...

A limb pic, not bad for a gray board the kiln guy gave me for free!! LOL

Stay sharp, Kenny.

Full draw(almost) 17* out, brrrr

And first  3 at 20 yds at the 3D target, it shoots same arrows as my 48# recurve. Bareshafted perfect with a little nock adjustment!!

Stay sharp, Kenny.

Oh yeah, she is a 64" D/R of my own design, pulls 50.31 @28"

Still needs final sanding and resprayed, has a bit of sawdust in finish where she fell off the hanger!! LOL

Think she will do nicely for this year.....   :bigsmyl:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Those knotholes may be a safety concern in the layup.  You'd better send it to me for five years of longevity testing before you risk yourself.        Shoot straight.

I have been working on a blank I got 3 years ago...not being a particularly competent or ambitious woodworker that bow has lots of imperfections...the thing is the bow is more mine than any of the ones I did not have a hand in building...I just decided today I am fine with that

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

That thing must throw a real hook to hit that deer like that facing 90 degrees from it.    :biglaugh:

Very nice, Kenny.  Love the color in that Walnut.  I like the styling you did on the riser, under the grip.  BTW it's warming up to about -17 during the day here so don't complain.    :bigsmyl:   Chad
