I just built an all phenolic riser 1 piece hybrid and it sounds a lot different than wood when shot. Not necessarily louder just different. Anyone else noticed this?

No sir, I have never noticed... My Journeyman phenolic riser is so quiet, you're likely hear a mouse "toot" before you would hear any noise from the bow  :)

my carbon bow sounds different then wood

I have a phenolic takedown riser and a similar wood riser.  No noticeable difference.

My all phenolic bow doesn't sound different than my others that's because none of them make noise that I can hear.

My phenolic riser Shrew Lil Favorite seems typical.

I do think my aluminum riser 3 piece ACS longbow is "louder" though.

Highly subjective topic.  How do we quantify this?

Phenolic should have less noise due to weight. You will find that is is more flexible and may possibly lose a couple fps becasue of it...not that it matters.
