Thought I would try for some rabbits today . Was walking in this dry creek bed busting jack rabbits. They did not want to play they kept busting 50 yards or more out .
Was sneaking along and I see a coyote walking my way along the side of the bed. Eased out of the creek bed got behind a bush and he just kept walking my way. Got to 20-25 yards and the arroqw hits home. Goes ten yards goes down and gets up and goes another ten yards and goes to sleep.
Old male in bad shape.

I'm thinking 8-10 years old. no front teeth and canines worn real bad.

No holding this one for a hero picture.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

Here's the bush ,the coyote was just in front of the second post.

A little later was going to another spot . Got this feeling. Got out and took a little walk. Found a good spot got all comfy. Made three dog death screams few seconds later made several more. Right away see one charging in Get the bow up when it was at 50 yards .Never stopped gets to six or seven feet looks up and the arrow is gone.
Might of hit it.

Went maybe 20 feet.
The bow is where the hit was made. I was behind the weeds on the right of the bow . The quiver is where it went down 1st and the coyote is where it went down for good.
You can hop but you can't hide.

Thanks for sharing. You know how to put a hurting on em.
But I must say you have some of the nastiest looking yotes I have ever seen. That first one looked like it camout out of a Steven king novel!!!!

Congrats! Sounds like a great day. Too bad about the bunnies, but a nice pelt is always good. You did that old male a favor, not to mention the bunnies. Good job! You never cease to amaze.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

You got the Chupacabra!  Looks like you did it a favor...definitely a "mercy killing" in my book.  I think I'd bypass the taxidermist and get that one in the ground ASAP.  Good shooting and congrats, I think, lol.

You are amazing.  I have plans to hunt coyotes New Years Day with my brother.  I hope I have some luck myself.  The two coyotes I killed in OCT with my recurves are my favorite trophys.  Congrats and I hope you have a great new year killing them.

Very nice.  Boy that is one bad looking yote there.  Reminds me of one I shot when I used to live in Ridgecrest CA.

Congrats on yet another song dog TD!

I think you would be very ashamed of me! Last week I went deer/pig hunting. I was sitting in a tree on the last morning hunt when, right at first light, a yote comes trotting out in front of me. It was about 22 or so yards out. I started to draw and he stopped and turned to look in my direction as I was hitting my anchor. I let the arrow go, only to see it hit the dirt under the yote and watch him disappear into the brush!

I finally had a chance at one, and blew it!
