Here is a buck I found dead while stump shooting. definitely an odd looking thing. It has 16 points with a long sticker coming off the back of the horn and a drop line in the front.

I don't have any idea if it died of a shot wound or If it died of old age. Either way it is a cool rack. Enjoy SS

What a shame....he was a stud!

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

Oh man, I would have loved to take him with a bow shot.

As I observed before: Nature has no kind retirement plan for old deer.

Clean him up and European mount him. He'll be cool to see all cleaned up.

Hard telling what caused the rack, he could have been on his down hill slide. If it was because of old age I'll bet he was an awesome buck in his prime. Guess it could have been caused by an injury too.

That is the coolest looking buck I've seen. Definitely a nice find.

I'm guessing that is a really old buck. If you can, you might remove a bottom molar and send it in for cementum analysis. Would be interesting to know.

That is definitely weird! And very cool. Too bad a hunter did not get to take him!

It looks a lot like many of the antlered doe I have seen, or even a buck without testicles. Is that rotting velvet on the antlers? Could you tell for sure if it was a buck?

Cwilder

I would get a tag for him and do a euro mount. He has a very cool looking rack

Wow!  :scared:    Maybe he spread some of those wild genetics around...and you may see a similar rack in that area in the future?!

is it September yet??

Judging by the decomposition looking like it came from November/December, I'd say the odds are about 95% that death came from a firearm, arrow or car crash, 2% killed by another buck, 3% other causes. Being both funny and serious.

Nice! He looks like an old scrapper!

Well, considering the original post is from November 21st, 2013 - I'd say before then.   :D
