Gonna be in the woods behind my father's house before daylight Monday. Lord willing I'll see something. Maybe get a shot. But the best part of the day will be mid morning when I help my veteran father take his 65 Mercury Comet to get some work done to it. He loves to drive it. And when we get back I'm gonna go sit back behind his house if the morning was not successful with a downed deer.

Hunting on veteran's day and spending time with a vet. That's what I'll be doing.

If I have not tagged out by then, (not likely), I will be chasing deer on Monday. Veteran's Day has a special meaning to me; my grandfather was in WW1, my dad was in Europe in WW2 as a tanker and retired from the Army, my father in law was at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7 of '41 and retired as well, I'm a vet, and my son is a vet.
Here's to us, and those like us! Damn few left!

I hope to be out hunting after I get the daughter off to school.

I always wear my dog tags visibly on Veterans day when I go out and encourage all other vets to do the same. I think only 3% of the current generation have served their country, this generation needs to know how many of us did step up to the plate when we were called on.

I don't work Veterans day. I'm always in my stand that day. Seems I always shoot my buck the week end before or on Veterans day.

I almost drowned due to a duck hunting brain-fart a couple years ago, and it was the grace of God and my military training that saved my life. I make it a point to try to hunt Veteran's Day every year since.

God bless our Vet's, past, present and future!

I'll work most of the day. I'll participate in our veterans day activities also.

I'll be out hunting too. My daughters teacher is asking for a Vet to come in and talk to her class and Ella would like me to do it.

I'm a very comfortable public speaker but the idea of talking to a class full of 9 year olds has got me twitching! Lol

I'll be working, but thinking about hunting and my brothers in arms.

Well I went out but when the temp dropped 20 degrees with a 20mph wind I decided to call it a "day". I did see a couple good rubs so will try again tomorrow. Just with a couple more layers on...   ;)

I went out and tried to sit out in the woods this morning.  Until the farmer that farms the field next the woods I hunt decided to do some plowing at 06:30 this morning.  :banghead:

Didn't see a darn thing today. Except mosquitoes. High was 70° today. Tomorrow's high will be 40°! Lol. There's a saying here in Oklahoma, "if ya don't like the weather, wait a minute...it'll change!"

I'm just glad I live in a country where I could go huntin today. Thanks again, fellow vets!
