I have been hunting the same tree for over twenty years on state ground and have never went three days without seeing deer. This year I have been out ten times and have yet to see my first deer, I just can't figure out whats up.

I'd be changing locations at least temporarily. Let this site cool down. I used to have a great spot on public ground but then about ten other stands showed up on the same ridge way too close so had to change plans. Go in deeper away from the parking lot hunters.

There is no one hunting this side of the road but me so that isn't the problem.

have you looked at food sources?   Maybe they're on to something later (or earlier) this year than usual

Huntings been real hard in my part of Pa so far this year.  My go to stand has gone bone dry and I think I know why. FOOD!  My stand sits on an east to west white and red oak ridge looking into a thick hollow. Half mile east is a 60 acre standing corn field. 200 yards to the south is a wooded housing plan. Bedding area is normally to my west in a horrible tangle off grape vines and toppled choke cherry tree tops from a logging project. Over the years it's been a dream come true hunting area. This year and last year the acorn crop has been ZERO!! This bit of property is about 5 acres that I have sole permission to hunt. Without the acorns the deer have no reason to travel this direction to this bedding site. Right next to the corn is an overgrown strip mine. More than enough cover and a short trip to the only food source available.  FOOD and COVER is the sole reason I think I've been stumped the last two years and I'd bet that's the problem that's caused the problem that you are having.

Around here if your in the oaks that are dropping the deer are thick, outside of that very few. Even trees with piles apples are being ignored.
