This is a little haversack my wife, Chris, made up yesterday. It is 100% woolfelt, with some "cave art" on all sides.
This particular one is a simple design with one compartment and a flap cover, toggle/button to be added at some point. With the wide, contoured shoulder strap, It hangs wonderfully under the arm and should prove quite handy to have afield.

Post your thoughts please.

That's really nice looking!  The "cave art" really adds to it!

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Very nice. A zipper pocket on the back. Maybe an adjustable strap. Some pockets inside on the back. A bellowed bottom or something allows it to open a little more if extra stuff is put in.

I really like it, adjustable strap might come in useful.

Like others, apparently, my first thought was adjustable strap.  I've used haversacks for years and I am very particular about where they ride.  If not adjustable, maybe make the strap a little long so it can be cut and sewn shorter for those who want to 'fit' it.

Thanks for all the comments.
This particular bag was made for my wife to use at the shows she does, not to say it wouldn't or couldn't find it's way in to the woods with me. It is really a nice little bag.
My plan is to do just as you have all suggested,
internal pockets, gusseted bottom/multi compartments, and for sure an adjustable strap.
I am thinking of other options like a leather bottom, leather strap. Maybe canvas or nylon webbing.

Thanks again guys

looks good but I'd need it an inch wider than just two pieces flat together only so my fat fingers don't stress the threads when shoving my hand in..

a smaller pocket inside like the possible bags is priceless for small items.  I'd buy one,,,, is this the same material your vests are made out of?

Ted, we use the same material for all of out products, the only difference will be the weight of the lay-up. This bag is very thick and sewn with heavy garment thread so it is tuff, But as I said this one is kind of "purpose built".
After next weekends show, I will be asking the boss to make a hunting version. Stay tuned for that.
Thanks for your comments. We will be working on the hunters version. It seems there might be some interest.
Thanks again
