Ive got some Stos broad heads that I bought many moons ago.  I wanted to put some adapters in them, but the ferrule seems a little flattened.  Anyone else ever have this problem?  And are the new ones with the slick coating better than the classics?

Thinking of dumping these to get some new ones that hopefully have a better ferrule.

I shot stos for a while. never had that problem. Will a short adapter work or is the ferrule flattened at the beginning?

It's flattened so even a short adapter doesn't fit well.

I never had that problem with the old ones either. The new ceramics are super slick!

The only STOS I've had,had excellent ferrules. What you can try,if you have access to some steel adapters,is to put the broadhead blade in a vice, chuck the steel adapter in a drill and gun it into the ferrule, pushing fairly hard.It will swage that ferrule open and it should fit exactly.

Yes,Stos broahead have a oval shape ferrule.
This is what I do for a perfect fit brodhead/adaptater or insert.
I use epoxy glue, put some glue on the insert tip and inside the broadhead, put the insert (stand up) on a hard wood piece , put the broadhead on the insert and with a hammer hit firmly the broadhead point.
This is smash a little bit the broadhead point but you can correct this very easely with a file ,but in my case this is not a problem because on all stos broadheads,I cut the point (i take off 3/16) to do a nice tanto point.
