Well.  James did it again. He got ahold of my Wednesday  and said the Northstar was complete , he was going to hurry up and try to get it to the post office so it would be here by Saturday, otherwise I'd have to wait untill the following weekend to get it since I am working out of town.

I get home today and low and behold, here is what the postman left for me..........

MAN!!! if my wife woulda been home I would have already shot it, but alas I will be the first in line tomorow morning at the PO.

The "Northstar" is a forward handled string follow bow that draws smooth and it's point-ability is awesome.

I shot the original which was only 62" long and I was totally amazed.

Longbows that short aren't supposed to be able to draw that smooth... thus the "Bumblebee" of longbows IMHO.

Congratulations Brian!

God bless,Mudd

Wow Brian!  You have a long night in front of you, Ha ha.  Something tells me you are going to love this bow.  I'm shooting the little "bumblebee" NS that Mudd tested out.  What a treat to shoot(and quiet due to the great string silencers that Mr Mudd put on!).

Enjoy, and I am looking forward to pics.

I wish I was busy shooting it. I have a painter comming by and some honey dos to do, BUT I opened up the box and it is hands down one of the prettiest and most slender bows I have ever seen.

Ok, I have a break in the day as I just got to the hardware store. 3 truck loads of mulch later and I got some pics.
Spec again are:   54@26" 62" reverse handle /stringfollow JD BERRY Northstar.  Myrtle riser encased in African wenge, all yew limbs with brown glass back clear belly.  Brown fiberglass wedges.

That's the stringfollow in it

Beautiful stitching

Not the best pic, but perfect glue lines with the African wenge encasement and gorgeous myrtle

Looks like the new brown glass. And I LOVE IT. It is lighter than my Vixens brown but I like it alot.  Tip measures 3/8 under the nock

James Yew, hands down the best I have seen. Just a golden sunrise color and character galore

Love the contrast of the sunburst gold of the yew and the blonde of the myrtle

I have only shot maybe 6 arrows from it. No tuning , no nock point.  It draws very very smooth. Zero noticeable shock, very quick, surprisingly so actually. With it being 62" it seems maneuverable and great point ability.  And as always, other than all the other great attributes of a berry bow, the grip is just PERFECT.  James grips are what hooked me from the beginning and this bow is no different. I am pleased.

Ill tell more about the shooting when I get a chance. I need to get in to the store and get back to work!!!!

I've been waiting all day for these pics. What a beautiful bow. What is the benefit of the "string follow"? Is it essentially a morningstar with string follow? Seems like it would be a little slower. Iam new to these types of bows but quickly becoming a fan. Congratulations on a awesome bow.

What a beauty, Brian! Can't wait for the shooting report!

Thanks guys. I am loving it. I was skeptical to try a shorter bow again but this one has removed all doubts!!!!

Lone,
This is a stringfollow version of the Morningstar. It seems really quick so I dot know it it lost any performance at all. Some say stringfollow imparts some forgiveness in shooting compared to a reflexed. They also say reverse handles offer forgiveness, so I guess a reverse handle /stringfollow bow should be VERY forgiving.

All my Berrys are top shooters though and seem forgiving. Ill have to shoot in to fully understand it
