Being from oregon I'm sure you know about Cam's book back country bowhunting? If not and you are unsure about the basics in gear ect that would be a good one for you to add to the list.

Pretty good thread here in PowWow on page 3 by Gil Verwey - Come along on a DIY Elk Hunt..
Lots of good info on the Wilderness Experience.

One with the wilderness is ALL about  wilderness and solo hunting

If you don't already own a copy of One With the Wilderness, do yourself a favor and pick one up. Even if you never intend to step foot off the pavement, you'll appreciate it. It is an excellent read. Novices and veterans alike can all learn something from Mitten. One of my favorite reads!

Mitten wrote a great book with One With the Wilderness.  Trailing a Bear by Bob Munger is also another great read.

I've been reading all the suggested "adventures in bowland" (Pope, Hill, Tension On The String, etc.) since I got into trad hunting some months ago. But, (and I mean no disrespect here) I'd be hard pressed to spend $183. for a new copy or even $45. for a used one.

edited; I just found new one's for $40. at 3 Rivers
