For my birthday this year I purchased some custom arrows from 3 rivers.  I want to say that 3 rivers has amazing customer support.  They called me twice to make sure what I ordered was correct and to suggest changes.  They wanted to make sure I ordered what I needed and wanted.  Two big thumbs up to them!

As my journey with Trad continues, I see symbolism every where.  We symbolize the animals we take by using them in our bows.  Also certain colors are used for personal meaning.  I am no different when it comes to that.  Having served in the US Marine Corps for 9 years we also had symbols everywhere.  From our Eagle, Globe, and Anchor to the colors of our dress trousers, everything has a meaning.  Wanting to join the two most influential things in my life I made my blood stripe arrows.  The term "Blood Stripe" does not reference what blood I want to shed but rater the blood that my brothers shed that went before me.

Marines will understand the colors.  Arrows are heritage 150s.  I start the process of bare shaft tuning this weekend so I will be posting questions and maybe pictures.  Thank you for looking and joining me in my first step at perfect arrow flight!

Semper Fi!  I remember when my blood stripes were put on with the help of my fellow NCO's, though it was many years ago now!
 Take care and good hunting!

Hey there Devil Dog, nice arrows.  I made some "blood striped" arrows years ago too.  Almost like your's, except I had a spiral scarlet streak lined with gold through the crown.  They were looker's.  Hope you enjoy and keep your string waxed.

Lefty, these blood stripes didnt hurt as much as the ones I got on 1 Nov 2006.     :D   It was a good pain though!

Toddster, I can imagine what those looked like!  I may try to add a gold into the scheme sometime.  I wish I could get EGA emblems printed or draw on the cock feather.

Semper FI brothers!  And thank you everyone for the comments.  I am getting my hay bales today to start bare shafting.

My bow, arrows and I know that what counts in hunting is not the arrows we shoot, the quietness of our draw, nor the game we stalk. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...
