...since I shot any of my bows Right Handed. Torn Rotator cuff plus other problems in the right shoulder required Surgery this past Feb. Doc and PT said with hard work, I should be able to shoot my 55# bows by late Sept.

Here to tell you I have been working out extremely hard using heavy stretch tube bands (Thanks to Bamboo for putting me on this), plenty of stretching and push-ups. More than the Doc would recommend.

On Facebook, I did ask Denny Sturgis if I could borrow his biceps the past 2 weeks because of my increased workouts. I believe he mentally sent them my way. Today...I strung up "JK", my 58" 55# Kempf longbow. Nocked an arrow, took a deep breath, came to full draw, held for 3 seconds....and released my first arrow into my pillow bag. NO PAIN.

Shot 5 more arrows, making sure I held for 3 seconds and I'm ecstatic. My hard work and I'm sure a Beacon of light from the Man above helped make this possible. Now, barring any other injuries, hopefully will take a few deer this fall both RH and LH.          :archer2:

That is awesome! Nothing like trad to get it back! Had quadruple bypass 3 1/2 yrs ago. 5 1/2 weeks later killed a deer with a 70's  Bear Kodiak Hunter. I was motivated just like you!
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Good for you Joe, I feel for ya Bud, I beat my self up a bit over the last few years that kept the bow out of my hand. Only messed up 2 turkey and one bear season!!

Hope it goes well for you Joe. The 1st arrow I shot after shoulder surgery it felt like my bracing shoulder(right) relocated to the center of my chest. But from that day foreward got progressively better. Be cool with those excercises. Good Luck!

Way to hang on there, at times it will come back and try to put you down.  The mental side of rehabing the shoulder is 90% of the recovery. I had to hunt left-handed for two years after my shoulder surgery.  It was four years before full confidence in the shoulder returned.

As said by others, DO NOT OVER DO IT.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
