After being at my Mecca of knife forging last week...Doug Campbell's work shop  :goldtooth:  I decided to try to change some caper designs.  With hunting season rapidly approaching, I'm still looking for that Holy Grail of the perfect knife shape.  Alas no such luck but I guess I'll still finsh these three.  I'll keep pounding hot steel in my search   "[dntthnk]"  Doc

I like the 3rd from the top    ;)  or maybe the blade on the second one down with the handle on the third one down.

Hmm keep searching    :bigsmyl:

pant pant pant...

May you never find it. The joy is in the hunt, not the capture of the ne plus ultra of whatever you seek!

Plus we all find joy in your cast-off also-rans.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I like 2 and 4 myself, I do not do a bunch of skinning, only the 5 or 6 deer I shoot each year.  :bigsmyl:  Very Nice work!!! Shawn

Hey Doc, while you were at the forge the Sawx dropped 3 to the Yanks  :mad:

I'd pick the bottom for skinning and the top for butchering.....

Doc,

Keep looking for that: "Holy Grail of the perfect knife shape" as I plan on winning it for bagging the biggest bear on "Quebec Quest II!"    :thumbsup:

If you are talking caping as in detailed work I like #3. Skining I like 1 or 2..
