I just joined a primitive weapons hunt club in SW Georgia and am looking for a vendor of current aerial maps. Looked around on the web but thought I'd see if anyone here has a good resource. Thanks for the help!

Apex Mapping in Baton Rouge, LA. will probably have what you want.  They have VERY up to date maps and do A LOT of hunting lease maps.  They will outline boundaries, place trails and stands on the land etc.  Below is the link

I usually custom order my maps (topo & aerial) from mytopo.com

Go to your local FSA office. They have the maps and copies can be purchased.

Go to your county office complex.  They should have all the tools you will need to get what you want.  When I get a new area, i go and get a 3'x4' aerial photo of the area.

I always use google earth to scout ground out west. Gives you a good idea of the lay of the land.

mytopo works for me too................

First thing, call the county the land resides in.  Many local governments use GIS systems to track all sorts of things and pay to have their counties flown and photographed periodically.

Best thing is that the resulting map data is public record and yours for the price of printing.  If you can accept a digital copy, the cost is often zero.

Thanks again for the help. Should be able to find what I need with one of these.

Mytopo is a great option. USGS is a valuable resource as well.

I have bought maps from Apex as well and they are outstanding. Jason with Apex will work with you to get exactly what you want.

Bing maps birds eye view and printer ....
Google maps satellite with printer as mentioned

If we're talking big country or especially wilderness areas, I usually printh the aerial maps myself and then buy a topo grom USGS and just makes notes onto the topo.

I agree the best is ArcGIS.com  You can add verbiage to them and trails and wind directions and print them off in photo or topo formats or land structure.  Great "free" stuff.
