I have ordered my first Toelke longbow, a Super D. It's 66" 45@28 and I'm looking forward to getting it! It is an inventory bow-Shedua riser, Myrtle limb faces, and a Bamboo core.

From all that I've read about Toelke bows, I think I'll be very happy with my purchase.

You are about to be amazed!  Welcome to team Toelke

Congrats

My only wish is he made a 60".  My short draw could easily handle it

As I understand, the Super D has very little hand shock, for a typical traditional longbow design, and they are extremely quiet! My draw is 29-29 1/2", so I think the 66" will be perfect for me.

awbowman

Zero hand shock and with a heavy arrow they are deadly quiet.  Everybody comments on the quietness.  Slings them pretty good too.

You can carry that thing for days also.  I believe the quietness is in the thin limbs

The bow you just bought, is the same bow I just return to Dan a few weeks ago. The reason I returned it was, the grip was just to small for me. Other than that, it is an awsome bow. It was the fastest D style bow, and the best shooter of all the D style bows I owned, hands down.

And by the way, I'm in the process of selling all my D style bows except one, and thats my Wallace Mountain. The Super D will out shoot that Wallace mountain, but the WM has a larger grip.

You will not be disapointed.

Congrats. Can't go wrong with a Toelke. Don't have a Super D yet but have a Whip and a Kestrel - both great shooters.

Also, I put a SBD string on that bow with cat wiskers, It was dead silient, and ZERO hand shock.

GF600-Did you get many arrows through it and how long did you have it?

Great info GF600. Thanks to all for their comments about Toelke bows.

They do have small grips, it's what makes me like it.  It fits ME.  Bows are very personal things

I had a 40#'er 66" long.....it was just a joy to shoot......helped with some shooting issues I had. Excellent bowyer and an excellent bow! You will be amazed!!

I had it about 2 weeks, maybe 100-150 arrows through it. It shot so well I almost kept it. But as you well know, the grip it evrything.

Thanks GF600. Yea, the grip is really important! I happen to like small grips, so I think it will be just perfect! You're right awbowman. Thanks Ron W.

You will love your new Super D Dennis. They have ended up being the only bows that I own and are extraordinarily well-mannered D bows, feather light, very quick, forgiving, dead in the hand stable and quieter than quiet. Mine are 64" and easily handle my 29" draw. I strongly suspect Dan can accommodate a request for a larger circumference grip. For information's sake there is an all Myrtlewood 66" 55# @28" Super D at Dan's that is a superb shooter even by Toelke standards. I actually shot it for awhile without a nock and quickly put it back before it could follow me home. They are great bows.

Dan told me that due to the design of the Super D, the grip only come in one size, or else I would have had him build me another bow. Instead, I had him build me another classic whip.

If I misunderstood Dan, I would put in an order first thing in the morning.

Let me know!
