Tried my new Whippenstick longbow. 65" 60 @ my 30" draw. 530 grain arrow. 193fps. That is the fastest bow I've shot in 20 years with a hunting weight arrow including some high performance recurves I've owned.   Bill

That Whippenstick should put some wuppen on some game!

Yea. It's really amazing if you look at it it really seems like a mildR/D bow not real radical at all.   Bill

Not gonna cut it anymore, the compound guys keep telling me the deer are gettin' tougher ....

better go up in weight about 25lbs and another 200grains. haha.

All jokes aside that's fast for any bow, lightning for a longbow. Hope you get to field test it on some game.

Not radical in the braced shape. But it has a good amount of reflex unbraced. Those slender limb tips and carbon layer really helps the performance though.
Instinctive gapper.

Steelhead

I believe thats an all glass bow Bullfrog has and is not carbon backed. Not really very radical compared to some bows these days unstrung really.Definatly a fast shooter!

Kens bow are really fast. I thinks his longbow is on par or close to the Cari-bow Peregrine. The Whippenstick Phoenix is even faster. That one goes easily over the 200 fps at 9GPP and a skinny string.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

SBD strings on all, what else?

I had a peregrine and a ws longbow both 60lbs....i soldthe peregrine and the ws is still on my rack.

I also had the privilege to compare both bows. I let the the WS for what it was and bought another Peregrine   :)   So I have two now, in different weights.
This shows very well how personal a bow choice is.

I DID buy a WS Phoenix however! With that bow Ken outdid himself...

Peregrine is a great bow no doubt. You're right, its all about about personal preference. I had one td peregrineand a one piece. They were both close to the ws in speed (within 5fps) but that's not what its all about. Both very good bows and bowyers!

Hmm.. 60 lb, 530 gr arrow.  Shy of 9 gpp.  Still impressive to see a stick bow push 200 fps.
