Hi everyone I HAVE A couple MAHASKA custom bows coming one recurve and one flat bow.does anyone have any first hand experience with these bows?let me know your reviews if so I would like to hear!thanks

I had 2 longbows, both 66", one was 46#@28" and the other was 55#@30". Both were excellent shooters and the 46# one almost silent at the shoot. They are just good hard working hunting bows.....I miss that 46#'er.....lol!

I've had two of Kent's recurves. Sold them both for financing of other bows. Wish I hadn't. I've tried to find the ones I sold but have had no such luck. They are out there somewhere. Hopefully I find them.

I had a recurve. Great workmanship, fast, quiet. accurate, but loads of handshock.

I have shot his bows and they are nice, and I hunted javalina with him,  he is a good man.

Great bows! I have had of his 2 recurves, still have the one that was my first custom bow made to order.  Traded off the other because it was a bit heavy for me.  Great craftsmanship, excellent price, and Kent is a real nice guy.

Had 2 recurves for 12 years. You will love them.

I've had several of his long/flat bows, all nice bows.I still own one. Good workmanship and easy on the pocket. Kent is a good guy. He'll treat you right.

Had one of the recurves, cocobolo and southwestern cedar veneers- very pretty and well crafted all around, lot of value for the money it seemed.  Great 50's styling.  I passed it on in a trade, but would own another without hesitation.

Edit:  to be fair come now...a later post has mentioned 'hand shock'....it's a 50's style recurve with basically a longbow style riser/grip...very slim...not a lot of mass...yes the bow has a 'pulse' on the shot...not going to be dead in the hand like a typical chunky riser recurve.  String material plays a role too.

Well, I had a different experience. While a extremely nice guy, his recurve was one of the worst bows, I have ever owned. Extreme shock, slow, and certainly not a pleasure to shoot. never again.

^ finally some honesty. I have the same thoughts.

Good bows, speed is around 170-174 fps for 10gpp and 27". I changed the string for a new one, less strands and modern material (no dacron)and from then the bow is very nice.
