Seems to me talk has changed here. IMO too much talk about this bow that bow, look what I just got. We all love our bows but I find it hard to find anything worth reading on POW WOW any more.

I don't usaully share my opinion but felt I should. Maybe it's just that we're in between seasons with nothing more to talk about.

What do you think?

Every year about this time it seems some people cant help but post random things. We have pulled more threads in the last two months than have probably been pulled all year long.

Seems some people need to leave the keyboard for a little sunshine.

It will get better when the turkey and bear hunting come along just hang out.

I totally agree with you Charlie. I have been feeling the same way lately. Now don't get me wrong anybody, there's nothing wrong with sharing the love for our bows.......BUT, can't we talk more about hunting and all of it's many aspects? This is the reason I try to get some threads started about building blinds, Deer foods, hunting methods, ect. Shouldn't we be talking MORE about hunting and all that pertains to it? Lets share what we know, what we've learned. I love to share what Iv' learned over the years, I'm proud of my accomplishments in my world of hunting. Participate in a little pow wow and lets talk around the fire at the end of the day. Not about bows and arrows, but about the realm of hunting with the bow and arrow. OK I'm done ranting now!   :campfire:    :campfire:

Back when "trad" archery was all there was, we spent way less time talking about equipment and more about other hunting/woodsmanship stuff.  We didn't worry about how pretty our bows were--rarely if ever even thought about it.  We just spray painted them some camo colors and headed for the woods with arrows that we generally had no idea about what percent FOC they were--in fact, I doubt anybody had ever heard of that.  Somehow they still killed stuff.   :D   Yeah, I have gotten to the point lately that I by-pass the "look what I just got in the mail" threads.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

While I've been registered for many years I've only been active for about 3 years.  I'm sure folks that have been on here longer have noticed there are very distinct patterns.

This is the "season" lots of equipment threads. Also a lot of hunt planning threads.

Of course I love em all.  It is my choice to start, contribute to, read, or ignore any post I like.

There are a few cagey folks here that can title a post in a way to suck you in to something you wouldn't otherwise open.

Charlie I know it's cold but we all need to get out of the house. Myself included.

I understand what you are sayin' Charlie... Maybe some people that come over from the (Dark Side) talk a lot about gear... Then you have the (young) ones that only see what they could buy...    :dunno:    ... Gonna guess most people do not get or have enough time spent in the woods hunting to keep them happy... So, talking about "stuff" or waitin' for UPS to drop something off is part of the thrill...

That's My Rant! Will stick my neck out and say... "That's why I "hunt" foam targets so much!"

Cabin fever is bad this year. And the latest local weather forecast is for a cold start to April so Spring is still a few weeks away.

Well, tis the season. People are recieving the new bows they ordered. People are building arrows and upgrading equiptment for the coming seasons. People including myself are asking for input on equiptment. Here in Michigan it finally reached 50 degrees today so spring is coming. Have been shooting all winter outside but it has been windy and cooooold! I swear this last weekend I saw a Robin flip me off as he flew by heading back south!  :bigsmyl:

I could agree but at the same time it's also the beauty of the site... No one is really stuck by the fire listening to someomes boring conversation. If a topic is not appealing to you another one is a mouse click away. We are all drawn to different things and thank goodness for that diversity. Even reading a bad thread is better than talking to a cat in your lap! lol

Some of the posts could be taken care of if folks would just use the search function. The questions that have been aske a million times would be taken care of without a repeat post! Just my thoughts...   :notworthy:

I think that, though, is one of the beauties of the members of tradgang.  The members are more than willing to give their personal input to questions asked by those new to traditional archery.
It shows that the people here really are a rung above most others on the "sportsman" ladder.
I'm not trying to sound elitist.  Just seems trad hunters are a different breed.  We are as happy to "talk shop" as we are to stalk a hog or whitetail......well, almost as happy...LOL

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

Yeah, lets talk about what we dont want to here other people talk about. Will just whisper it, like were in the woods hunting.shhhhh!

i kinda like seeing whats new, and who is changing what, it gives me ideas on changing things big or small and maybe having to tweak something up a little. I especially like to see the new bows and wood combos, and I don't mean to be facetious , but i can always turn the channel to something else, as stated above.

I read what I want and skip the rest. Best way to see more post like you want to read is to start them. So please start some up. I am sure I will enjoy it.

Love all the mix of threads here, with that said if you aren't interested in a certain thread , it isn't difficult in the least to scroll that mouse button right on past to one that sets your britches on fire. I do it all the time !!!

I have been around here a long time, longer than most and it is just that time of year. No real hunting going on in March and for us Northern guys turkey is still a ways off! People get bored and need something to do and this site may suffer sometimes because of it. It will get better! Shawn
