Two Sundays ago I decided to get out and do a little stumping. It was cold, but it was time.

I strung up the Lee for the first time since January, grabbed some Hex's and headed out the door. Got to the back field and decided to do a sky shot.

On the way out I spotted this Cardinal feather. The plus side about stumpin is the things you see.

Last seasons scrape in the field, probably a night time deal.

Pileated Woodpeckers give you good natural bullseyes......

Two of these are Hex heads and one a regular blunt. They all have the Zwickey wires behind them. A great strong head that usually takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.

I was trying to put them in that dark center but was having a time getting them thru the brush,as in one twig.

You thought"yeah, right"  Every shot caught that twig with one of the wire legs.

The tepee shot, try to put it where the poles would come out.

So every now and then you come across the "Make a wish" stump. Another words,"Man,I wish I could hit that thing!" This one was out there.

It is in the center of the photo, and just left of the gray dead tree.

Here it is after taking 16 good steps from where I shot.

And here it was when I got to it at 45 steps. I looked up in the sky and said "Thank you."
