New Mexico Turkey hunters

Ive never hunted turkeys. I think I'd like to this spring. There are OTC tags available for the spring season.
I have personally seen them just a few miles from my house, I dont know if that is a decent huntable population though.

Do any of you experienced New Mexico turkey guys wanna show me the ropes?

I know it is a bit tricky and must have a steep learning curve. With a traditional bow anyhow.
