After being slam dunked and denied by Ole Tom in the past couple of yrs. im changing up my tactics and already planning my attack. Win or lose, hunting the magnificent turkey is hard to beat.
Any others thinking "turkey" yet?    :coffee:

Cyclic-Rivers

Cant seem to get turkeys off my mind.  I will be thinking turkeys while rabbit hunting tomorrow.

I'm ready for my first turkey season. I was looking for hogs Monday and busted about 6 turkeys at the water hole.

FarmerMarley

Yes indeed. I got my mouth calls in my truck and practice whenever I'm driving somewhere. It's a good way to get lots of practice. I don't recommend it while you got others in your vehicle, they might not appreciate it...

RC

I`m ready. My honey hole got logged and I will be on new turf but I look forward to it.RC

We still have two months before season begins here in Maine, but I already have the itch.
Take care,

I am ready and dreaming about wonderful drumming sounds.  Today I sit in the house drinking coffee looking at a foot of wonderful snow that should help the spring hatch.

bretto

We've gotten 20" of snow in the last week here in N.E. Kansas. The birds will be flocked up and visible for a week or so.

It will get your blood pumping when you look out on a hillside and see 100-300 Turkeys huddled up.

Come on April 1st.

OOOH YEAH! I love hunting those Turk's. Last year was my 1st year at it,and just loved the back&forth conversation with the Tom's. Get's one's blood pumping. I was successful last year, and fingers crossed for another fun hunt this year. Heres last years Tom......

And after the hunt....

Make certain your exhausted when you reach them Pearly Gates.

This is a daily occurence across the pond from our house. In the Spring I were earplugs so they don't wake me up too early. However, when the season opens I am up before they are.

Last years longbeard.

The best things in life....aren't things!

Nice birds guys! Hoping to achieve that goal as well this yr., Im determined and hard headed so im sure to give Ole Tom a run for his money, even if i dont succeed. Just playing cat and mouse with turkeys is a rush like few others.

Shedrock

Yup, I'm excited to hunt some turkeys. I think I'm more excited just for spring to get here. Knee deep snow and below zero mornings are getting old.

May 7, 2010. Stuck trying to get to our turkey hunting spot. I hope this 2013 turkey season isn't like that again.

Our season opens 15 days from today! I am headed to the lease Monday to make sure all is well down there (I may have to whack a pig or two also in defense of the turkeys  :bigsmyl: ).

Good luck to you. I hope you get a big 'ol tom this year!

Can't wait!

Had a warm sunny morning here yesterday, and I heard the first of the year across the field behind the house. Passed a flock of 30 in a cornfield about a mile down the road later that afternoon. Spring can't get here soon enough, although thanks to the PGC's infinite wisdom spring gobbler season will nearly be over before it actually starts.
We are all here because we are not all there.
