4.5 Hours in a treestand watching and listening to the sound of a front end loader & bobcat digging a driveway approximately 350 yards from me.

21 Consecutive minutes of video as two deer SLOWLY worked their way across

80 yards of hardwood in front of me, spending most of their time between 35 to

25 Yards directly in front of me, resulting in

O Shot because I accept that I am still just a 15-20 yard shooter with my recurve, equalling

100 percent satisfaction in my decision.

I hate math but these numbers added up just fine for me today.

Three or four more steps and it would have been an AMAZING day!  As it was, it was still not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Nicely done, sir. It is fun just to sit and enjoy God's bounty.  :clapper:

Sounds good to me. I have had more than a few of those days hunting turkeys, but I love seeing those birds come in even if I don't get the shot.

Great way to spend 4.5 hours, though I am sure it would have been a bit better without the constuctiion noise.  Still better than work or being stuck inside.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

@Burnsie....There are 4 counties in Northern Virginia that let us hunt antlerless deer until the end of March.  It's really the PEOPLE that are overpopulated, not the deer.  But, heck, I'll take the extra few months of opportunity!

The contemplation of and basking in the attributes of each hunt may serve as a most rewarding nourishment.

Man I really need to get out hunting a few more days before the season closes. Glad to hear you enjoyed your day in the woods. Sounds like you were really close. Ground or treestand?
