Whats the lightest poundage bow that you would use for hunting when using simmons treesharks for your broadhead?Wondering about pass threws with that wide of a head??

I have not seen the width of a shark preventing or minimizing passthroughs. I would rather help someone trail and recover an animal hit with a shark than any other head regardless of weight. I do know a guy who shoots very lightweight stickbows and big wide sharks with zero problems

If your gonna shoot those heads with a light bow, they better be nasty sharp!  I like the looks of the head and by design, the should penetrate VERY well, but they are wide.

NASTY SHARP would be the key I think.

Having said that, I'd stick to 50#s or better for the TreeShark.  The TigerShark or Intercepter will do the job nicely with lower poundages.  Not enough to be gained with a well placed Tiger to take a chance IMO.

I've never killed a deer with a bow under 60 lbs., but have contemplated spending a season with a 45 lb. bow and Treesharks just to see for myself.  I wouldn't have any reservations about trying it.  I think keeping your arrow weight up would be the key.    Razor sharp is a given, as is proper tuning.

I bet a lot of people would like to see your results too.    :campfire:

I killed my first trad deer with a 43@28 morrison Cheyenne drawn the full 28" shot was about 15 yards with the factory edge on the tree shark. Broke 2 ribs on the way in and went between 2 on the way out. Arrow stayed in the deer. She made it 60 yards. Since then I've invested in a jewel stick and razors edge broad head jig no more factory edge for me. Clean pass thrus now.

Are they screw in Treesharks as good as the glue on versions with an adapter?

Also, which one would be considered "stronger" on impact?i.e. less prone to break at the insert or tip curl..,etc

Will Cocke 2

I have found the glue on to be a little weaker at the tip and to make a little more noise.  It really doesn't matter just find what length arrow and tip weight u need and go from there.  On the screw in your arrow needs to be an inch longer than the glue on.

Goshawkin

If I can't find a few old Goshawk broadheads,I'm going to use treesharks for turkey hunting this spring.
