That was where I spent last Saturday afternoon. It was the last day of our late season here and I had to get out one more time.

I hunted this the previous Saturday and missed a coyote. When I got back to the end of the hollow there were coyote tracks everywhere.

I got a late start and it is about a 4 mile hike round trip. I hopped up on an old logging road to make a little time. Stopping and looking every now and then my eyes locked onto this.

Looks like the yotes had their fill on that one! What a shame.

Looked like someone had one get away in gun season and the coyotes took it from there. The only thing that had hide or flesh left on it was the head.

Just a bit over 15",to bad they did not find him.

You always have to take a shot of your bow,my Bob Lee made some meat for me this season.

 Blends right in...

That is pretty country.  Wish it would snow down here in LA.   I have always wanted to hunt in snow but never got the chance.
Let's go to the woods and learn things about life (Penelope, age 4, to me).

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

Nice that you are getting out.  Thanks for sharing.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

That would be a big buck where I hunt!

Bummer...but as they say, "nothing in nature goes to waste!"

You have a way of getting the most of your outings!
