My merory, that is. Was out back yesterday shootin squirrels and just missed one and instead of grabbing another round out of my quiver I slowly stalk in to retreave the one I shot. I got to my arrow and the critter was 5 yds. from me clung to the tree about 2 ft off the ground and bolted about the time I snapped my Gold tip on the string. Why didn't I grab one from my quiver? Perhaps I'm use to practicing with one arrow. Perhaps since this was my first season shooting with quiver on bow. Should I blame it on being 51?

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

Possum head, Thats definetly it. I'm 52 and let me tell you, it don't get better. I don't mind ruining an arrow but the thought of loosing one just makes me sick.

Yep,From one 51 year old to another, you are not alone.Takes a while to get use to a bow quiver too.I know guys that just dont like them.I on the other hand still like them best for hunting.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

John, that was for your ears only!

I'm 51.  I think it would be my frugal nature that would make me pick up arrow one before I lost it, since shooting a second would make me forget where the first was.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
