I just purchased a '68 Indian Seneca 62" recurve. I know these aren't big money bows and was wondering on how to refinish it. The wood looks pretty good but has some finish starting to lift off especially around the handle. What I am wondering is because it has fiberglass laminated limbs do I sand them and coat also? I have read several threads on refinishing but this part just kinda gets skipped. I have built furniture, painted cars, etc. so I understand about going slow and sanding with the grain etc. I have not done much with fiberglass. The limbs have spots on them and a black spot that looks like where it was stored.  Also, should I just sand the factory markings off and re-mark or try to leave them on the bow? If I re-mark the bow what should I use to do this? Maybe a paint pen?   :help:  Any and all advice appreciated.

Hi,although there is a post from bowdoc called restoration 101 which is referred to often.I read a refinishing article in traditional bowhunter a few years back and it was actually a indian seneca that was refinished in the article.I think you can order past issues from them.I will look it up and see what i find.
