Hi everyone I'm from west missouri and I shoot a compound right now but am wanting to convert to traditional. Mainly because I want to simplify my setup. Also I think modern archery might be getting too high tech

Welcome moredneck. I hear you on the compounds. As a convert myself I switched over for the same reasons you mentioned. Compounds are effective and very consistant after you get em' dialed in. But,after that the bow pretty much does the shooting for you. Mine sat in the case all the time. Traditional archery is in my blood now just like all these other TradGangers on here. Hopefully, you'll get bit and that compound will find itself on the classifieds somewhere.

Josh.  welcome.  The day you shoot your first arrow from a quality trad bow that hits it's mark your life is over as you knew it. I speak from 21 years of long bow experience.  Today I only shot 20 arrows (I mean one arrow 20 times)
Good luck..

This is a great place!  I also was a sort-of convert in that I started out with a recurve many years ago in my teens, gave it up for over 15 years, then got back into archery with a wheelie bow, but soon realized that the TRUE art was calling me home.  I started on a wheelie bow oriented forum and coming over here was a conversion as it took me a short bit to get used to the atmosphere and rules, but they are good rules as they keep the place clean and on point.  Anyway, I now own 9 trad bows (+/-!) and still just the 1 wheelie...and guess what that wheelie gets shot, like none!  And I am getting wonderfully accurate with my trad bows, enough so I am soon going to start hunting with them and maybe just maybe lose the wheelie bow for good.  I took it hunting yesterday and I was disgusted with how much crap I was carrying and with my 4+!! pound bow vs. a 16 oz stick bow.  You won't go wrong here.  Trad is where its at.  Archery in its purest form.  Enjoy!
