Looking for set-up suggestions for an arrow I am putting together for my son, Reed.  What are you guys shooting at the 150 grain mark?  Could go a little heavier, but no lighter?

In that range I have thought of the 150 stinger and a little heavier the 165gr or 175gr simmons.

I've had good results with Magnus stingers and silver flames in that weight. I've also had good results with the VPA terminator in a little heavier weight but they do make it in a 150. Good luck to Reed!

Thanks!  I like the 125 grain stingers, but can't find any 150s at the usual suspects.  I will expand my search a bit.  I also like VPAs, but that 150 looks like it gets wide real quick to me.  The 165 Simmins is really appealing.   Decisions decisions...

We have the 150 Stingers available, both two and four blade.     :archer2:

  Magnus Broadheads at Braveheart Archery

We also have the Tusker Javelin 150 screw in heads, in either sharpen yourself or wicked sharp out of the pack pre-sharpened "Bloody Sharp" heads.  A nice feature of the Tuskers are that they are completely solid, no vents, since some archers prefer heads without vents.

Hunt for you! Dont worry what others will say,if your happy with what you shoot who really cares what anyone else thinks. You will be happier in the long run and hunting will remain the fun way to get meat for your entire life.Enjoy the journey

VPA 3 blade it does gain width quick but I don't think it will be an issue.  Zwickey eskilite comes in about 145 in screw in format.  Woodsman elite is a nice option if you don't mind vented.

Steelhead

I like Stingers and shoot the 2 blade 150.The price is good. The Diamondtip tip is excellant! The blades are thick enough. They fly great and dont cost an arm and a leg.

4 blade 150 Stinger. Goes deep easy!! Very sharp from the pack. Incredible quality.

Razorcaps have proven to be the deadliest head I have used since I started hunting in the mid 1950's. Most game I've taken has gone down in sight and blood trails are always very good to excellent.

Stinger, no doubt.  Those blades don't play around.  SHARP out of the pack.

Razorcaps or Kustom King Trailmakers are my choice of screw in heads.

150 grain Steel Force premium heads from Three Rivers. They are sharp out of the pack and don't break the bank..Henry
