Anybody have any sugestions for books on archery that are geared more for people who are new to the sport?

Fred Asbell's books on instinctive shooting and stalking and still hunting. Both would be very instructive for new folks.

E. Donnal Thomas is a great writer, and conveys the true spirit of traditional archery/hunting. Longbows in the Far North and Longbow Country are both great reads.

TJ Conrad has a good primer for traditional archery newbies, and is the publisher of Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, another great resource.

Personally I would skip the books and pick up either Masters of the Bare Bow 3 or Accuracy factory.

"The Traditional Bowhunters Handbook" by T.J. Conrads is a great book for beginners or anyone else, for that matter.

Become the arrow by Byron Fergison was a good book for me when I started out , he also had a video become the arrow that went into futher details about his shooting style

I began my traditional journey some 10 years ago with TJ Conrad's book, the Traditional Bowhunters Handbook, and G. Fred Asbell's books on stalking and shooting. I would recommend those very same books to this very day.
