1% of GDP is spent on outdoor recreation!

Hunter numbers grew! While this doesn't break it down by type of weapon, overall hunter numbers increased by 9% from 2006 to 2011. From 2001 to 2011, hunter numbers are up 1.2 million.

I'd love to see some trad hunter numbers over that time. Anybody know of any formal sturdies done by trade groups or someone else that breaks it down like that?

The final report will have the data broken down by age which is always what interests me most. Overall I'd call it good news.

Going up nationwide, a good thign.  Numbers are going down here in Maine, both resident and non-resident, a bad thing for IF&W funds and the guides and camps who are trying to make a living.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Don't get me started on the funding we as hunters do, and the mast majority using it, without paying, bike trails, horse trails ....

It's because we can't afford the increase in groceries!  ;)
