9/32" 155-160 grain field tips for 1816 shafts????

Where can a guy find 155-160 grain field tips to fit a slim 1816 shaft?

Make your own,using a 32 gr aluminum adapter and a 125 gr,glue-on field point=157 grs.Glue should weigh app. 2-4 grs.

The heaviset point I've found for a 1816 is PDP EP-145 9/32" easy pull,design for Axis/MFX arrows.You can use 5/16" points but you will have a lip on them making target removal difficult.

Thanks.   That is my concern (tearing up targets).

I may have to use the 5/16" as you suggest and try to chamfer the back of the head myself.

It is a pretty simple matter to chamfer the back of the point.Chuck it in a drill or drill press and turn it down using a mill file.You may lose 4 or 5 grs.

You can modify a 2016,100 gr brass insert to fit in the 1816's.Screw a field point into the brass insert.Now chuck the field point into a drill press.Use the mill file to reduce the insert's diameter.Kind of like using a lathe.If you have a small piece of cut off shaft,you can stop the drill periodically and check for fit.It helps to color the area you are filing,with a Sharpie so you can monitor your progress.You can also turn down the lip of the insert if you need to.You will probably lose about 10 grs of weight.I've modified the 2016's to fit in 2018 shafts.It takes a couple minutes per insert,once you get the hang of it.

I just got in from chucking an 11/32" field point and going at it with a bastard file.

I see that it could work.

I still want to know where to buy 9/32" points in 155-160 grain weight, to save the extra work.

It may be a "white whale".

Anybody???
