Ok, this one will test our ability to hit our spot on the first shot.  So, no warm up shots this time immediately before you shoot. If you do practice, you have to wait at least 30 minutes before you shoot.  If you want to get them all done in one day, try to wait  30 minutes or more between shots. Ideally, if you can, take one shot each morning or evening.

Shot #1 will be from 12 steps, simulating an easy shot from a ground blind. You'll be sitting on a bucket, your hunting chair, a block of wood, etc.

Shot #2 will be from 15 steps. This time you'll be shooting from behind a tree. Stand with a tree, or your car, or something between you and the target. Make sure you have just enough room to clear your bow. Lean to the right ( or left if you're left-handed) and take the shot.

Shot #3 will be from 17 steps. This shot will simulate shooting beneath some overhanging limbs. Shoot bent at the waist, or crouching, with your bow canted.

Shot #4 will be from 20 steps.  This one will be from your knees. One or two, your choice.

Good luck.

Well, did shot one this morning first thing.  Only warm up was a little coffee.  Feeling good about sitting in a ground blind this season....

Will take shot two tonight.  I like this one looper.

Yeah, I think these types of shots really show if I'm ready for the season to start, at least in the accuracy department. Handling the nerves when the time comes is another thing.

Did the first one this mornining. I like the first arrow from cold idea. The rest are gonna be interesting!

Raging Water

Warm up was the trip to the potty. Shot one was a 10.

Hmm? I wonder if I can make that a pattern?

I had to use the one shot every 30 minutes method on this one as I'm heading out of town. First shot was a solid 8. I didn't have a tree at 15 paces, so I had to shoot the second shot at 17 paces for a 4. Shots three and four were both 8's. 28 is my total for this week.

I shot my makup for week 7 tonight so put me down for an 18.  I like shooting from my knees, but it looks like I need to work on those leaning twisting shots.
