This weeks shoot will be designed around the last four shots I have taken elk with.

First, if possible (we are a lenient bunch aren't we) all shots will be taken within about 15 minutes of shooting light, whether morning or night.   Looking at a civil twilight list this week and allowing some play room, shots will all be taken between;

before 6:15am  or after 8:00pm

If I'm wrong on these times, let me know.        :readit:

Second, we should only be using the bow and arrow combo we intend to use while hunting this year.

It will be four shots.

#1 and #2 14 yards.  leaning horizontally, on both knees, with one knee under you and the other one stretched out behind you.  The shot should be taken with the bow severely canted, Like this (photo is a link to video);

#3 is 17 yards.  On both knees, with them pointed away from the target.

#4 on one knee @ 17 yards

     :knothead:   good luck guys.

Oh dude this is like my worst possible combo!
Was out practicing this morning, including kneeling on one or both knees, sitting, standing facing away etc... The only really bad shots were off my knees! Don't know why but I really have issues with shooting kneeling  :(
Despite that I am looking forward to it. Great picks a nice realistic challenge this week  :)

gringol

I'm glad you decided against the uphill sprints, cause I'd have to go to Georgia to find a hill.

Richie

After the 400 yard sprints we could throw in some lunges , squat thrusts(up downs)and maybe a few 10 count push ups.
Actually sounds like fun can't wait.  :biglaugh:

Those times won't work in this part of the world but i'm sure we can figure it out.  I figure the Run might have helped,  would have no choice but to kneel (or crawl) at the end of it.   :)

Looking forward to another attempt at improving on my barn door grouping.

OK so I went out to do this tonight after a couple of practices over the last couple of days.
In practice I shot pretty well leaned over and was miles away with my knees facing away... And it hurt!

So this is what I got.

Best shot was knees facing away, next best was one knee, and the two misses were leaning over!

elknutz

Well at least you shot a good group William.  I can't sleep tonite from worrying about how I'm going to get back up after crawling around on my knees that much!  :D

I shot last night. Not pretty, fat old man trying this.
Missed the first shot, 8 on second.
Missed from backward (sorta) knees, then 4 on regular knee.
It was in my head to call it practice and, have, another go at it tonight too sore to think about it.
No picture too late and hot for that.

Great shot calls elkbreath. Seems this battered body dont bend so well anymore, put me down for a score of 12. Ive got to say though, that I done better than I expected.   [/IMG]

Eric Sprick

Shot #1 a solid 8 and I'm thinkin I got this position down! Well pride cometh before the fall and #2 I whiffed.
#3 just caught the top and I bore down for #4 and redeemed myself with another 8.

20 this week but I liked the shot positions elkbreath.

Okay Gents, etc.

I have been propping up the bottom long enough.  (Pretty bold talk, as Ned Pepper would say)

So for Week 6 - I was out of town but managed to do the three shots.  I find a small target is better for me so I mark the center and then draw rings later.  I made 8,8 and 6 for a 22 on week 6.

Poor folk with poor ways, but rich just the same.

Now for week 7... a test developed by a sadist.

I am back to the bottom where I am much more comfortable.  I was feeling bad for threatening that nice center dot...

That is an 8 - two 4s in the same hole.
