I am trying to rely less and less on modern day camo; I do hunt in a ghillie suit often but am wanting to get away from buying what companies say I "need" to be successful;

What do you use?

Game warden said that the next time he caught me out there "natural" that he was gonna field dress me and run me in.
Never had that reaction thirty years ago.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Sometimes in modern camo, sometimes in jeans and flannel shirts- never natural- I'd be ripped to shreads in minutes!!!

I prefer camo, not because its any better, I just like it. Some of mine is 20+ years old.
You dont NEED anything except a bow and arrows, but if you like the look of a pattern, be it new, old,high tech, plain jane, plaid or whatever...go for it.
Whatever YOU feel better in.

The closest to "au naturel" I've come when hunting has been in a breech cloth (not alone, though... that would scare all the deer into the next county!) under a knee-length walnut dyed linen hunting shirt.

I have too much camo to abandon it completely, but I'm preferring the 18th clothing and the plaid wool lately.

Wool and army surplus camo is about the extent of it for me. Really like the wool plaid patterns and is usually what I wear. Works real good!

I knew the "natural" theme would get some bites.

Highest tech stuff I can find - Sitka Gear. Comfortable, effective, and well-designed with hidey-holes everywhere.

I have no doubt far less expensive "Natural" clothing would hide a non-moving hunter just fine though.

Except --I won't use any type of clothing that claims to be "scent-control" -- never fooled me the first go round and won't do it now after they lost the lawsuit.

QuoteDo you hunt in camo clothing or go "natural"?
I wear camo break up stuff like a leafy, or ghillie suit.

Occasionally, especially when it is real hot I will go all natural, but I'm hairy enough to pull it off as long as I have my back turned to the GW.

Going natural along with bowhunting frogs is a no-no here in Michigan.

I am moving more to flannel and cheap cotton camo for the hot days.  Too much of the "good" camo has a sheen to it from the high tech material.  I have a hard enough time without shining in the woods.

I'm afraid my "natural" camo would only by effective in the snow.  That would cause other problems...

cheap camo for me.  mix and match, whatever is quiet and cheap.

Killie you can go natural in Jersey, we are all weird here.Just watch out for the briars.
