I ordered a metal Predator Riser for my son on Monday. It arrived today.  They don't  have LH risers yet but my son is a RH shooter so he is first here.

My intitial reaction is even better than I thought it would be...I love this riser!  It has a black, textured finish and every accessory hole one might need. Even two pre-drilled and tapped location for cushion plunger-type arrow rests. One of the holes is right on top of the shelf and the other is in the normal position. We'll be putting a Strickland Springy on this one.

There weren't any instructions with the riser so I have a voice mail in to Ron or Mike to make sure I understand how the adjustment works on the limb mount platforms. There is a small allen screw below each limb flat that must adjust for tiller on both limbs and thus (like an ILF) riser adjusts draw weight a bit? You can see one of these screws protruding in the large riser hole just under the limb base in the photo below.

I put my Anniversay limbs on the riser just to see what it looks like. The limbs are black faced and red elm backed. They look great!

The grip is SOOOOO fantastic!  I just texted pics to my son (poor boy is at work while Dad is opening his mail!). This could be the one from a shooter's standpoint.

I compressed the photos to 169 KB and in Photo Bucket they show as way below the max size. They however look too big here?  Maybe I just don't get it.

Sorry if these are too large.

An adjustable limb bed on a non-ILF riser.  Now why didn't I, or a bunch of other bowyers, think of that. Cool.

Very innovative!  Every time I see a Predator I wonder how the heck he can shape those limb wedges. Congrats to you and your son.

I've just come from my son's house (he lives across the creek from me). We put his 52#@28" Tulip-wood limbs on this riser.

First we seated the limb pads flush with the riser. The bow drew 54#@28" (48@26").

Then we raised the limb pads by adjusting the allen screw (takes a while because only 1/4 turns of the wrench are possible). The bow drew #50@28" (44@26").  We then bottomed the limbs out again to get it back to 54#.

We put a cheap flipper rest in the centered bushing and my son shot it at 20 yards. He shot it very well and it was quiet.

He smacked his bare arm a few times so I checked the brace height. It was only 6 1/2". I twisted the string to 7 3/8" and the bow was even more quiet and the arm slapping stopped. He was shooting 5-arrow groups with all the feathers touching.

I'll post a couple of picttures of him shooting as soon as he texts them to me.

We both like this riser very much!

Pictures of my son shooting the Metal Riser Predator.

He's shooting Beman MFX Classics. This bow will be going across the water with him in August.

Thanks.

I'm pretty proud of my son. He began shooting with me at 5 years old. He was the Indiana state champ at 8 years old in the 12 and under "Bowhunter Round-Up" held at Patoka Lake in 1987.  He also likes this bow very much.
