So is there anyone out there that makes some good hats that are the style like Fred Bear wore?

And possibly are there any available in camo... Preferably like the old treebark or original predator patterns?

He wore a Borsalino. Try googling Borsalino hats for dealers. I bought a good 8X Beaver felt hat from Beaver Creek Hat Co, in Jackson, WY. It wasn't cheap but a great hat.

LL bean makes one call the Moose River Hat. It's made by Stetson. It's about $100. I also have one by Orvis, It's called "Packable Lite Felt", and I just got the one Cabelas had on sale, another "Packable Lite Felt". Can ya tell I like fedoras? I have about 7 of them. (The Lite Felts are easy to shoot with)

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Fred Bear bought his hats here...

https://www.henrythehatterdetroit.com/

Not sure if that's true or not but with Henry the Hatter being in business since 1893, in Detroit, it would make sense.  Go to that site and price out some Borsalino brand hats like Fred Bear wore.  Pretty expensive but I'll bet they are nice.  Lots of other options on there though for cheaper felt hats as well.

Lots of options for felt hats out there, just do a search on Google.  I'm in the market myself.

Fred wore the Bosalino Traveler. Pricy but very nice, I got mine at Hat man Jacks in Wichita, Ks. I love mine, soft brim bends up at the shot, but bounces right back after.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

While Fred did indeed wear Borsalinos he wore  hats with a variety of brim widths over the years.  For example, looking at archival photos you can clearly see that his oider hats sported wider brims.  I own a Borsalino that Fred gave me - actually too small for my head, and it's a great quality hat.  I bought a similar model a few years ago which isn't near the quality of Fred's original.  After a lot of searching I finally found a great hat maker, Akubra.  They make the best felt hat for the money that I have seen. The Akubra "Bushman" has become my all-time favorite . . . really takes a beating.  They are buttery soft yet retain their shape very well.

I forgot to mention, I do have a felt hat that I bought from Cabelas.  It's this one in the "chocolate" brown color...

You can catch them on sale for about $25 now and then.  If you catch them on sale, they are worth every penny.  The quality, dollar for dollar, is top notch.  It is a little "cowboy-ish" but the brim can be bent a little bit...and I stress just a little bit...to help.  I really didn't care for the Cabelas logo on the side of the hat, but a small grouse feather covers it easily and gives the hat a more personal touch.  Here is a picture of it that I just took this morning after stump shooting around the yard...
