I traded for an ACS CX yesterday, and now the wait begins.  The bow isn't for me though, it's the next step up for my boys from the bows they have.

There are a huge amount of awesome bows in the Tradgang  classifieds, just take a look.  Remember guys, there is no luggage racks on a hearse.  You can't take it with you, so enjoy it while you have it.

On the same subject, I'm also waiting on a new Tall Tines longbow.  The visions of the way it looks is overtaking my mind.  I have no doubt Brian will nock it out of the park.

I like that Mike.  I always tell my wife that a used trad bow is the best deal out there!  :biglaugh:
62" Super D, 47#s @ 25-1/2"
58" TS Mag, 53#s @ 26"

Yep. I tell my wife, " New or used bows are great investments. You'll get more out of them when I'm gone, then you'll get from me!"  :goldtooth:  What kind of woods are you getting on the Tall Tines Mike?

All Macassar Ebony, riser and limbs and bamboo core. I have wanted one with that wood for a while now, and finally bit the bullet and got it.

Mike, Ive found if you have enough bows on order there is a new one showing up often enough that any particular one doesnt hurt so much.  :bigsmyl:

Don, I gave you full blame when my wife inquired about my habit.  So keep looking over your shoulder at Compton.    :biglaugh:

I just got the ACS in the mail today, and I can honestly say that I'm very satisfied with the trade, and the new owner of the RER says the same thing.  We decided to call each of the bows "Fair Trade".

I traded my RER LXR for the ACS CX, and I was amazed how this bow throws my 600+ grain wood arrows with authority.

My boys are going to be delighted when they are finally able to shoot this thing, because I made the trade for them, but until then and till my new Tall Tines shows up, I will be shooting this one.

Only bad part is, I just found out that I'm going in for surgery and will be off for 4-6 weeks with no weight bearing on my leg/foot.  Gonna be a hard thing to do, especially of the weather is going to be nice out.

Anybody else waiting on a bow?

First, good luck Mike with your surgery and I hope you have a speedy recovery.  Now as for a new bow, you kind of got me going on this when you posted your RER long bow limbs not long ago.  I love my RER recurve but have been wanting a long bow for a long time.  So after some thought I decided to go for a stand alone bow rather than adding limbs.  Long story short I have an almost new Cari-bow Slynx on its way right now.  And it should be here in time for my trip to Hog Heaven this week.  I don't know if I'll hunt with it but I can't wait to put some arrows through it.  RER and Cari-bow were my two top choices at Kzoo this year.  Compton will be fun, hope I can try the new Tall Tines long bow, Brian said he might have 3 of them there.....temptation will be high.

Big Ed

I seem to be always waiting on a bow. The wait is part of the fun!!
