Widow's Son

I think I may be becomeing a longbow convert. I've been shooting my recurve bow alot since returning to archery after a 10+ year layoff. I've been doing pretty well with my 1966 Bear Kodiak and MAII Black Widow. Yesterday morning I decided to drag my Roy Hall Navajo Stick out of the closet. This bow is the Caddo model, 64" long and 55# at 28". After a little tuneing I was tearing my target up. It just seems so easy to hit the target with this bow and when I miss I immediatly know what I did wrong. I never really shot this bow very much after purchaseing it 10 or so years ago since I had also recieved my BW at about the same time. I don't know why I'm finding it so easy to hit with this bow. My left arm is crooked from a childhood injury and I wonder if the heal down position of my bow (left) arm is moving the arrow closer to my eye/line of sight. I know when shooting my recurves that I have to aim/place the arrow tip really low to hit the target.
Oh well, this new development is going to be fun and interesting to pursue. Now I'm looking at a Great Northern bow quiver and I'd really like to have a Hill style longbow.

Wish me luck,
I think I'm becomeing a longbow man!

I love a long bow also.  I have been shooting my recurve a lot because it is my lightest bow and my shoulder has been off this winter.  I either shoot it great of I am off, and I am never quite sure why.  I am never as good with my longbows as I am when I am hot with the recurve, but I feel more consistant over time with the longbows.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Boy have you walked into a boggey hole! Once you join the longbow clan, you may find yourself hooked forever. Glad to hear your lonbow shoots so well for you.

I took the plung...and found out just how nice some of the new LB's are...I've been a curve guy since I started shooting back in 1963...so... I got a Fire Fly from a great Trad Ganger here today..and it is without a doubt the sweetest shooting quietest bow I have ever owned or shot.I'm kicking myself for not looking at the new styles sooner...The curves I have..will be sitting for now..
