I find it amazing that something so ugly at one point can look so beautiful when finished.

Sixby

These ugly ducklings grow up to be beautiful bows that shoots lights out and burn barns down . When you get these bows you will understand.

My daddy used to say that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The proof of these bows in in your hand when you shoot the first arrow.

Now when brags like this are made they have to be backed up. Kirk is not making this brag but I guarantee you that he will back it up with the bows you get.

I expect to the phone to ring now about any time and I will get my spanking LOL.
God bless you, Steve

I was kinda wondering if it was just because my bows is one of the ones being built, or if it's really this educational and entertaining.

I really think I'd be digging this thread even if I was just watching from the sidelines!

I caught this thread kinda late, wish I had found it earlier. One of THE best threads I've seen. How cool  is it to see your bow coming together? Thanks Kirk.
Hmmmmm. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm
not sure that what you heard is what I actually meant!

Wow this thread went dead for 7 hours! crazy! Does everyone shoot leagues on Friday night?

I've got some good news, I went from 3 bows to 2 today. A nice step off on my "one-bow guy" journey. I'll let go of one more in the near future, but I'm going to hold back one until I get this one in hand and tuned in!

I also organized all of my spare strings and arrows that are too short, looks like good give-aways and donation stuff!

Can't wait to see if anything gets posted from Oregon tonight!

I am with you Thom hoping to hear from Oregon. Congrats on the bow sale.
The big day is getting closer won't be to long and Kirk will be heading to the PO.

Nice thanks for the vids Kirk!

Pete, something on the radio threw a flag at Warner Brothers and they had youtube pull it. Crazy that a billion kids can upload Justin Bieber but they pulled Kirk's video for having cool classic rock playing in the background     :banghead:    :banghead:    :banghead:

Zradix

Can't get the 2nd vid to come up either.

The others worked fine.

Guess Kirk must've had some good tunes going...I mean really..Warner Chappell won't let a guy play the RADIO in the background of a of a bow building video....jeez

Thanks for the vids Kirk.
Nice limb jig you have there for the sander.
I wondered how that was done.

Kirk I enjoyed the music on the first vid sort of sounds like my truck and garage.
The other videos are grrreat one really gets to see the work and TALLENT that is required in the construction of these Bigfoots. Thanks again for taking us on this trip.

Sorry bout that guys... i never thought of the radio in the back ground as a patent infringement.   :dunno:

I'll mute the volume and re-post it.

sticksnstones

Maybe you should dub over it with "lawyers guns and money"

**DONOTDELETE**

I haven't figured out how to over write over the audio yet so i just muted it.

Basically what i'm doing here is laying out the riser and getting a true center line before milling the hardware. Getting the exact bisection of the pad angles make a huge difference in balancing the limbs out and eliminating hand shock.

try his link.

I need you guys with TD's to look at my new "Riser Design" page and tell me whether you want the "Radius back"  or the "Flair Back"  shape.

Std limb mount, or "Flush Mount" is another question... you got a couple days to make up your mind, but sooner is better..... Kirk

sticksnstones

Just going for looks, Flair Back and Flush Mount seem like they'd make it the prettiest with everything else going on with this bow.

I gotta ask you though, what do you think? If you think I'll need any extra strength of a TD Radius Back and phelonic or something I would certainly want to know your opinion.

Thanks Kirk! BTW video works fine and it's nice to get a glimpse of my riser with the sharpie marks!
Thom

I agree with you Thom, Flair Back and Flush. Iam waiting to hear back from Kirk. I think thats what Iam going with, if Kirks agrees. Have to remember, he is the boss on this job.  :)
