I read about tabs are better than gloves and gloves are better than tabs. So I was curious has anyone ever made a glove with calf hair finger tips(on the string side of the glove). Or has it been tried by anyone yet.The smoothness of a tab and the nice fit of a glove. Or am I really losing it lately?

I think Neet did a few years ago because I had a couple.  Hair eventually wore off.

Rick is right,I'm shooting one right now,and the hair wore off right away, and then it just seems like any other glove.

I have the Neet calf hair glove. It's very thin and I glued inner tube rubber on the insides and it was OK, but not good enough to get me to switch from a tab. I've used a calf hair tab on my wheel bow forever. Then on my recurve I used a Bateman tab and loved it. Now I have a Neet Trad glove and love it better. It's the one with the seam on the back of the one piece fingers in 3R. (Wonder why they don't put brand names on everything...)

The calf hair wears off tabs as well. I started shooting Cordovan leather tabs and like them much better than the calf hair tabs. Just my 2 cents.

I am sure that it makes a difference, but my shooting isn't good enough that whether I chose a tab or glove is going to make the difference between a clean kill or something else. I chose a glove because it is what I started with and it feels comfortable.  I can shoot a few shots without anything if I choose to, but the heavier bows get a little taxing on the skin eventually.

I also shoot gloves only, but I was looken at some seal skin in my drawer and thought about that on my glove. I was looken to see if had been done before.

I think the seal skin would wear off very quickly!! And for the price and availability I know I would not use.

Just my 2 cents.  :dunno:

I shot a gloove for 25 years, never liked a soft calf hair tab, 4 years ago got a 3 under cordovan, still shooting it, replace the elastic several times, but smoother, and I shoot much better. Cant ever see myself going back.

I use a glove. ...cause I couldn't keep up with a tab.....HH used a glove. ..so that's good enough for me....besides.....I've never said after missing an animal. ...'wish I'd have used a tab'.

Try the American Leathers with a nylon insert.  Changing to this from their cordura tip glove I get a cleaner release and picked up 4 feet per second. I don't care about the speed, but obviously a cleaner release.

TJ, Here's a link to a calf-hair glove question from Rob D. a few months ago... good info/feedback to preferences.  I like my Neet calf-hair, even heavily worn, because I like to feel the string with the thin leathers. Even worn, it is still slick, yet doesn't hang on the string.
