I wanted to see just how tuff these Poplar arrows really are so I made up a Less than perfect shaft that had at least 4 runouts and a pin knot in it. The arrow was 640 grains bare shaft out of a 47# laminated selfbow shot off the knuckle at 8 yards. Let me know what you think. Click on the pic to see video.

Heres another view of the impact from 10 feet away.

Needless to say we are very pleased with the results of this test.

Seems pretty impressive.  If footed (internal or external) may allow it to be able to shoot again.  Looks like a darn good shaft your selling Matt.

Exactely Mike. I've seen footage of carbons that had more damage after the shot than that.

I did my own toughness test on these Poplar's over the past few weeks as well.  I took one arrow and it survived solid hits on hard cedar stumps, two large rock hits, a glancing blow off a cow's pelvic bone that had been laying in the pasture for a year, 1 2 x 6 direct hit, and finally broke right behind the point as Matt's did after plowing through a block target into yet another 2 x 6.  Reeaaaallllyyyy tough, excellent shooting shafts at a great price.  Thanks Matt!

Oh yeah, and it's really pretty wood too.

Looks good Matt. I'm wondering about a footing as well, might be the ultimate tough arrow

Nice job on the video Matt.  It sure seems that these are the new arrow wood that everyone has forgotten or have not tried.
