Found a long lost old friend

Mudd

There was a thread about showing your selfbows and one of the posts was about some bows that made their reappearance after hiding for a long time in a bow tube.

Well I got me to thinking and digging around, sure enough I found one of my old favorites.

A selfbow made for me by Loyd Lippert.

60" sinew backed and covered with copperhead skins.

I got most of the dirt cleaned off of it and made it a new string.

It shoots just as well today as it ever did.

God bless,Mudd

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Speaking of old friends....I managed to get my old Firefly longbow back in a trade about a month ago. I sold it a couple years back when my brain farted and have regretted it since. It has made it's rounds on the classifieds and ended up in Oregon before it came home. Now I have one more old friend I would like to get back. It's a Quillian Bamboo Longhunter that cracked in the handle and Dean Torges fixed for me. I didn't trust it and sold it. I talked to a fellow that had it a few years back and that bow has killed just about every big game animal in North America. I just want her back so I can apologize to her.

Question.....why did you have that hidden away all this time, that's a neat bow and should have been used or hunted at least. Glad you got the old girl back out!     Have fun with it!!
