Man, I can't believe the Toelke Super D.  I had always shied away from the Hill bows due to hand shock, but this one is easy on the hand!

Jim helped me with hand placement and grip control.  That thing is crazy accurate and dead quiet.  Now id I can learn how to shoot a LONG longbow. lol

Congratulations, Mudd! That is a very nice looking longbow you got there.
Nate really knows how to build a Hill style longbow, right.

AW, For those of us in Ga. that have a GFL, (Georgia Firearms License) it is permissible to hunt while carryng a sidearm during the hunting seasons... bow season included.
With a GFL, we are able to carry open or concealed.

Assuming that you have a carry permit,I don't know for sure if LA reciprocates with Georgia's firearm permit laws, but I believe they do.
If so, you'll be fine as long as you have your non-resident hunting license and WMA stamp.

Yes, GA recognizes LA carry permits. Here's a map for those in other states who might want to carry in GA:   http://www.georgiapacking.org/gflr.php

I would never carry a pistol on a hog hunt for backup. And I am almost positive on a WMA you cannot have a pistol unless it is a caliber that is legal for hunting at that time and in Febuary that would be a 22 mag or less.A WMA hunt is much different than just hunting private land. The rules are not the same.
Personally I have killed or been in on kills of maybe 400 hogs and never have seen the need of any back up gun.If you hunt with dogs..its a different story.RC

I just added Chuck Deshler Two Tracks to the list of Hill hog hunters.

I agree with RC, there is no need for a handgun hunting hogs.Russian boars may be diffrent but ferrel pigs are not really dangerous. Most charges are not really that, when startled they just scatter and often run right toward you because they cant see you.I have had they run by me many times so close i could have kicked them.Once had one run right up to me and stopped not 3 feet away, he looked up at me with a big ut oh look on his face. I would say someone cutting loose with a .45 at a bunch of hogs running every where while scared out of your mind from all the dangerous hog stories would be much more dangerous than what any pig is going to do.Besides, everyone needs a few good scars to show around the campfire, lol.

I must correct my post on guns. It is legal to carry one if you have a permit. For defense against pork...not needed. Thanks Lambow.RC

Ben if you fly into Miami you can carpool with Darren and myself.

I just got an email saying that the Comptons Pre-Spring fling 2013 will also be this weekend. That may interfere with
my ability to make it to the hog hunt.
